Inchydoney Homemade
Walnut Bread
Ingredients:
8oz Plain Flour
8oz Extra Coarse Wholemeal Flour
2oz Jumbo Porridge Oats
1 tsp Salt
2oz Sugar
3 tsp Baking Powder
1 ½ Bread Soda
1 Whole Egg
600ml Milk approximately
2 Handfuls Walnuts
100ml Black Treacle
Method:
Mix all of the dry ingredients together
- · Whisk milk and eggs together
- · Add milk, eggs, walnuts and treacle to dry mix and mix well
- · Grease your tin lightly and line the bottom of the tin with parchment paper
- · Place the mixture into the tin
- · Bake in a pre-heated oven at 160°c for approximately 50 minutes
- · Turn out on to a wire rack to cool
- · Enjoy!

Thanks so much for this fabulous recipe.We stayed at Inchydoney for two nights recently and i couldn’t get enough of this delicious bread at breakfast.I even bought some loaves to give my baking mad sister who loved it too.I also bought a cake full of nuts and ginger(I think)which was equally yummy.I’d love that recipe too if that’s possible……please

Just tried this recipe , it was so easy and delicious. I have been looking for a nice treacle bread recipe for a while. Its almost like cake. I have been telling all my foodie friends about it. Just one little typo in the recipe on the amount of bread soda. It doesn’t say whether it is teaspoons or tablespoons. I used teaspoons . Thank you for sharing it. Niav
